I was going to write the other day that my laptop was dying a slow and painful death. It wheezes and coughs when it starts up (slowly) and shuts down (even more slowly?). Despite the blue screen of death and the "system has recovered from a serious error" message, I thought it was pulling through. I keep telling dear Getaway "It's been four years. Just one more month, baby. C'mon, you can do it."
But the situation is dire. She can't speak anymore (volume is permanently muted, some malfunctioning of the hardware) and can no longer tell time (always thinking it's fifteen minutes to an hour behind the reality). This morning, even running Windows in Safe Mode wasn't possible for a few hours. I think she's flatlining...
